a spring weekend

This past weekend was really great. It was so great, that I wanted to wait a few days to blog about it so as if to make it last even longer. Not because I’m lazy and didn’t make the time to write about it. It was because I loved the weekend so much. Mmm hmm.

Friday was nice to me and did a good job of setting the mood for a great weekend. After dinner, the boyfriend and I met up with my dear friend Jackie to get a drink at the new Kells Brew Pub on 21st & Everett. Am I the only one who didn’t know about their new restaurant? Well, it’s awesome. They have booths that can be closed off with doors for private dining without the cost of private dining. They’re called Irish Snugs, which might be the most adorable name for a place to eat. Dinner, anyone? I think the booths seat 8.

Saturday was another great day. After making breakfast for the boyfriend’s mom, I did some chores and waited patiently for our new dining room set to arrive. I only had time to open one box before rushing off to the Portland Bloggers Meet-Up. All I can say is wow—who knew there were so many cool bloggers in this town? I only follow two or three blogs total so I just had no idea. I made some new friends and left with some goody bags from our rad sponsors. Check out Sam's post to see more about that. I was actually really sad to leave the party, but had to get on my way to the second party of the evening at my friend Michele’s house where we had some awesome enchiladas and drank Tecate out of the can. Delicious!

Sunday we brunched at Elephants & showered the fabulous Rebecca and her baby boy who is due at the end of the month. I made two giant pots of butternut squash and black bean soup and had some friends over for dinner to break in the new table. Verdict is: I love the weekends. Is it Friday yet?
